Rules and regulations of admissions to full-time second-cycle (master’s) degree programme in english as the language of instruction at the WUT Faculty of Transport in the academic year 2017/2018

The Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Transport hereby opens the admissions proceedings to the full-time second-cycle (Master’s) degree programme in English as the language of instruction in the field of study TRANSPORT in the following specialisation:

The study is offered to graduates of first-cycle (full- and part-time) degree programmes in the field of study Transport or other technical degree programmes that lead to the professional degree of inżynier (Bachelor of Science). Candidates may be required to complete additional courses, due to entry requirements determined in curricula of courses in the field of study and specialisation courses conducted in the second-cycle study. The second-cycle degree programme aims at widening the knowledge of basic theoretical and technical courses acquired in first-cycle BSc study.
 
Graduates of the Faculty of Transport are awarded the Warsaw University of Technology diploma with the degree of magister inżynier (Master of Science) that certifies graduation from the field of study Transport in the chosen specialisation.
 
The programme covers three semesters (lectures, tutorials, project and laboratory classes, and seminars) and each semester comprises 15 weeks of classes. In every academic year there are three examination periods.
 
In the third semester, students prepare a Master’s diploma thesis.

 

Important

Foreigners who pursue study as fee-paying students are obliged to pay the tuition fee of EUR 1 000 per semester (decision no. 185/2015 of the WUT Rector of 10 December 2015 with further amendments).

In addition, all students of degree programmes in English as the language of instruction pay an additional fee.

Pursuant to decision of the Warsaw University of Technology Rector no. 72/2017 of 22 May 2017, in the academic year 2017/2018 at the Faculty of Transport an additional fee of PLN 2200 per semester is payable in full-time second-cycle study in English as the language of instruction, due to higher tuition costs.

At present, the admissions proceedings for degree programmes starting on 01.10.2017 are being conducted.

 

Registration of candidates

The registration can be done on any computer with Internet access. Online registration of candidates will be open from 2 to 30 August 2017.

The admissions regulations, laid down in annex no. 3 to the Resolution of the Warsaw University of Technology Senate no. 401/XLVIII/2016 on the conditions and procedures of admissions to first- and second-cycle study, profile of education and modes of the study in fields of study conducted in the academic year 2017/2018.

 

Submission of documents

Candidates should submit documents at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Transport from Monday to Friday 900 - 1500, 75 Koszykowa Street, room number 111, phone number: 22-234-7189; 22-234-5878, in the same period as the online registration.

List of documents:

Candidates, graduates of first-cycle study at WUT, whose diploma examination was conducted after 20 February 2017 submit the following documents:

  • CV (describing education, employment and professional experience, if any);
  • 2 current photographs (in accordance with the requirements for personal ID cards, dimensions 35 × 45 mm), signed at the back with the name and surname;
  • confirmation of payment of the admission fee to the individual bank account number;
  • certificate of graduation from first-cycle BSc study.  

Other candidates submit the documents listed above and also:

  • personal ID card with a copy;
  • diploma of graduation from BSc study with a copy and the supplement, which will be returned after the admissions decision has been taken.

Candidates who are holders of a diploma awarded outside the Polish education system are obliged to submit the following documents:

  • CV (describing education, employment and professional experience, if any);
  • diploma of graduation with a legalisation document or apostille (original document available on request),
  • copy of diploma of graduation and the supplement, which will be returned after the admissions decision has been taken;
  • translation of the diploma into Polish made by a Polish certified translator in case of a diploma issued in a language other than Polish;
  • ID card with a copy;
  • 2 current photographs (in accordance with the requirements for personal ID cards, dimensions 35 × 45 mm), signed at the back with the name and surname;
  • document certifying entitlement to undertake and pursue study in accordance with the regulations that apply to Polish citizens (e.g. Polish Charter, residence card – permanent residence etc.) with a copy, EU/EFTA candidates – passport.

Candidates to study in English as the language of instruction who do not hold a diploma of graduation from first-cycle study in English as the language of instruction should provide documents certifying the knowledge of this language at least at the B2 level.

The submitted original documents are needed for inspection only – in order to certify the copy as a true copy.

If on his/her IKR account (individual admissions account) the candidate does not have information on payment of the admission fee even though the payment has been made, he/she should submit a confirmation of making the payment with the other required documents.

The fee is non-returnable, except for fees paid by candidates for degree programmes that were not eventually launched. Applications for reimbursement of the fee will be received until 30 November. The application for reimbursement of admission fees can be submitted at the Admissions Office in person, or sent by post or by e-mail to the address: rekrutacja@ca.pw.edu.pl. The application should include the reason for fee reimbursement, candidate number and bank account number to which the fee should be reimbursed. Confirmation of making the payment should also be attached. 

If the candidate fails to submit all required documents by the set deadline, his/her application will not be considered.
