Laboratory of Warehouse Management and Freight Forwarding in Supply Chain

The laboratory is designed for education and research on material and information flows in supply chains. It uses commercial and working versions of Warehouse Management System and Transport Management System supported by multi-purpose engineering software, Automatic Data Capture and RFiD systems and examples of warehouse and vehicle on-board equipment. It has FlexSim 2016 – software for modelling and 3D simulation of distribution, industrial and decision processes in any business. The laboratory is used for testing the prototype version of SIMMAG 3D software developed in the Division.

The laboratory is primarily intended for teaching, but it also supports designing logistics infrastructure of different types and logistics processes through simulation and modelling.

 

Laboratory of Railway Traffic Organization and Management of Intermodal Terminal

The laboratory facilitates teaching on organization and supervision of rail traffic, operating railway services and management of intermodal transport terminals operation. Unique hardware and software environment make it possible to map real rail transport systems to analyze problems of traffic and rail operation and operation of intermodal terminals, construct timetables, fleet and container terminal management and list in-service work.

The laboratory is equipped with: model of railway system, computerized rail traffic control system, three independent intermodal terminals and specialized software (systems from DPK Railways, TRANS ERP CityLineDesigner and Konti).

 

Laboratory of Traffic Modelling

The laboratory is equipped with PTV VISUM software – a commercial and functional tool supporting planning passenger and freight transport. It is used for analysis and design of logistics and transport systems of different scale. The system enables development of models of conceptual or existing transport structures and appropriate I/O data to carry out studies, analyses and simulations of load on transport network, traffic distribution, modal split and analysis of the behaviour of systems users.
