WUT Faculty of Transport offers the best engineering studies in Poland
On 17 May 2018, the results of the first Ranking of Engineering Studies Perspektywy 2018 were published. Our Faculty took the first place among institutions that offer degree programmes in the field of study Transport.
The ranking evaluated 21 most popular disciplines of technical study, leading to the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Warsaw University of Technology took the first place in as many as 13 disciplines. In addition, degree programmes offered at our University were on the second position seven times and on the third place in three categories.
In this year's edition, the largest number of faculties in the top three of each 21 ranked disciplines of technical studies were four universities:
- Warsaw University of Technology (10 faculties took 1st place, 7 – 2nd place, 4 - in 3rd place),
- AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (respectively: 8-7-2), Silesian University of Technology (2-1-2) and
- Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (1-4-5).
A group of faculties representing equally great universities Gdańsk University of Technology, Lodz University of Technology and Poznań University of Technology took places just behind them. At the top of the Ranking there are also faculties of the Military University of Technology, Cracow University of Technology, West Pomeranian University of Technology, and even - the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
To evaluate the programmes, 13 indices were used, grouped in six criteria: prestige, graduates on the labour market, academic potential, academic effectiveness, teaching and learning, and innovation. The regulations of the ranking, such as criteria and their weights, were developed by the Ranking Board working under the guidance of professor Michał Kleiber. The board included both experts from the field of higher education, and representatives of various branches of the industry.
